International Oceanian Film Festival (FIFO) Screening: 2024 Film Selections

October 24, 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Tues: QLCSS 113, Weds: ARCH 205, Thurs: ART 132

Created in 2004, the International Oceanian Documentary Film Festival (FIFO) aims to make Oceania more visible through the sharing of documentary films. In the context of rampant globalization, FIFO’s ambition is to amplify the voices of the peoples and cultures of Oceania while also promoting Oceanian cinema and filmmakers on screens around the world. The Center for Pacific Islands Studies is excited to bring FIFO to the UH system from 21-24 October. On Tuesday, join us in partnership with NHSS to a special screening and discussion of "The Return of Polynesian Treasures." On Wednesday, join us for a screening of 2024 FIFO films, including Kaugere: A place where nobody enters (Papua New Guinea) and Circle of Silence (Timor Leste). On Thursday, join us for a special showing of short films. FREE BENTOS will be provided to those who register (up to 50 bentos available per showing)!
