A Case for Conservation - Hybrid Pau Hana Talk

Veteran conservationist Suzanne Case will talk about "My Life in Conservation: From Nature Conservancy to the University of 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞi‘i" in a free, hybrid pau hana event on August 29.
Pupus will be provided from 5 p.m. for in-person participants, with the talk beginning at 5:30 for in-person and online attendees.

From aquatic resources to watershed protection, Case brings extensive experience in 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ‘i environmental policy and practice to her latest role as inaugural director of the University of 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ‘i’s Office of Land and Ocean Conservation Futures.
Born in Hilo and trained as an attorney, Case spent 28 years with The Nature Conservancy and 7 years as chair of the 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ‘i Board of Land and Natural Resources and director of the Department of Land and Natural Resources. She co-chaired the Sustainable 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞÊ»i Initiative; 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞÊ»i Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Commission; and 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞÊ»i Invasive Species Committee, and she served on the state Board of Agriculture and KahoÊ»olawe Island Reserve Commission.
