The Center for Biographical Research presents: / “Staging Shakespeare in ʻŌlelo 51׻ʻi” / Tammy Hailiʻōpua Baker, Professor, Department of Theatre and Dance, University of 51׻ʻi at ԴDz (UHM); Justin Fragiao, MFA Student in Scenic Design, Department of Theatre and Dance, UHM; Iāsona Kaper, MFA Student in 51׻ian Theatre, Department of Theatre and Dance, UHM; Joshua Kamoaniʻala “Baba” Tavares, MFA Studnt in Acting & 51׻ian Theatre, Department of Theatre and Dance, UHM; Devin Walter, MFA Student in Costume Design, Department of Theatre and Dance, UHM; Noelani Montas, MFA Student in 51׻ian Theatre, UHM / The new hana keaka Kaisara adapts William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar into the 51׻ian language with a frame story set in Honolulu in 1894. These layers of storytelling presented numerous challenges for the cast and artistic team, as well as many sources for inspiration.
